Five believes in entertainment contest
UK terrestrial Five has tied up with Shine TV and Group M Entertainment on a new live singing and dancing entertainment show in the style of Glee. Building on the success of the US drama, Don’t Stop Believing (6×90′) will seek to find a UK amateur music group.
Groups across the country will be coached and choreographed by industry experts to perform in one of five live shows. After being judged by a panel, the remaining groups will perform in a live final to win a prize.
Glee, which focuses on a bunch of outcasts who participate in a singing and dancing club at an Ohio school, features a cover of Journey’s song Don’t Stop Believing and has been a top performer for C4 diginet E4, drawing combined audiences of 1.6 million. But there will also be an ‘X Factor’ element, with singing involved.
